Our Journey

Our Journey
We're Nadine Duguay-Lemay and Richard Lemay — partners in life and in purpose, embarking on a journey to build something more than a home. EcoLuma is the unfolding story of our dream to create a small, sustainable, passive ecological house in New Brunswick, Canada.
After years of reflection, research, and reconnection with what truly matters, we made the leap — purchasing land and beginning to design a life rooted in simplicity, community, and environmental care.
What we quickly realized is that navigating this process — especially here in New Brunswick — often means starting from scratch. Local, practical information isn't always easy to find, and much of what exists is scattered or generalized. That's what inspired us to document everything: the wins, the setbacks, the research, the resources, and the lessons we're learning along the way.
This isn't just about construction — it's about choosing values over volume, light over clutter, and stewardship over convenience.
Through EcoLuma, we hope to offer clarity, support, and inspiration for anyone walking a similar path. We're also creating space for collaboration and shared learning — because building better is something we can do together.
Welcome to our journey. We're so glad you're here.
